Certain urban sections near Prague and Brno do not require a vignette. These are marked with signs reading "BEZ POPLATKU" (without toll) or showing a crossed-out vignette symbol. At the Rozvadov and Petrovice border crossings, the first section of motorway leading to the nearest service area is also toll-free—giving you time to purchase at a kiosk if needed.
However, if your route continues onto the main motorway network beyond these sections, you will need registration. When in doubt, purchasing a vignette ensures you're covered for your entire journey.
